Insurance success!!!

not often seen, read or heard of on CS but i have a success story!

Renewal is due on teh 19th and my current insurer, Bedford insurance a quote recieved through Motor Qupte Direct found on one of the Comparison sites last year who charged me £480 wrote to me informing me of their "competitive" quote at £599

this is something i was clearly not up for, so hit the comparison sites (moneysupermarket, confused, gocompare and compare the market) and those insurers that aren't found on such sites

had quotes as low as £450

went to eCar as a previous insurer of mine and they quoted me a whooping £1200 and were so confident with their quote they offered their own comparison against compeitiors....70% or more were cheaper, the cheapest of which was Swiftcover at £259

i was keen to get my gf on the policy as a named driver and this pushed the premiums all the way into four figures. Swiftcover wouldn't touch her cos she isn't 25 but Churchill came up trumps!

£451 with me or £468 with my gf!! so that was that! not as cheap as i hoped, but i have got my gf on as a named driver for the price of having me on from everyone else!

and for those that care details
Mazda MX5 (Eunos Roadster import) K reg/93 1.6

Me - 25 driving 7 years with 5 years NCB, no claims in the last 5 years, convictions or medical restrictions, Mechanical Engineer
GF - 20 driving two years with 2 years no claims, no convictions or medical restrictions, Dental Nurse

sorry for essay just thought i would share some of us are getting some success with insurance!

I'm with swiftcover on the BMW, very cheap. Not sure on the eunos though, it's something ridiculous like £900

John and pow like insurance success stories.

My insurance is less than £200 for the year.

Being 30, with 5 or 6 years NCB (can't remember off the top of my head exactly) and driving a 2.0 Mondeo estate worth a packet of crisps probably helps though!
