Want to get one for my dad.

Looked on ebay but can't find what he wants...

Has to have magnifying glass and lamp, no need for a soldering iron, got one (Made in USSR )

price range: up to £50 would be ideal!

don't seem to have lamps attached, just a lamp that you have to hold...

You mean a magnifying lamp? Like this -

Maplin sell them, but i think there plastic 'hong kong' specials. Got a metal one for the old man a few years back from John Lewis, wasn't cheap though at £90.

You can also get 'Lazy Hands', to hold the PCB/Socket etc Can't remember the correct name for them though.

if that magnifying glass has intergrated lamp then it would do, and i think i have seen some "lazy hands" on ebay...

It's a Magnifying LAMP

That ebay thing looks shite and having 'Lazy/Helping Hands' mounted to is a bit impratical. Get a seperate lamp and soldering 'hands'.

it could have LED's fitted.. cant tell from picture
