The optimum time for me to change gear is 7,000rpm, not sure about you cos it all depends on power delivery and where the power is at what revs.

There are different opinions on this. Personaly Id say change where peak power starts to drop or just before it drops, unless there is a hill or a corner where you want the car to be pulling hard.
Daimo said he changed at the limiter(ie past peak power) and got much better times, this would support the other theory.
If you change at the limiter and the power is starting to drop off theoritically you would still be producing more power than if you changed up a gear and were at lower revs.

My car revs to 7,500rpm but my peak power is at 7,080rpm. On the 1/4 mile if I change at 7,500rpm each time my 1/4 mile time is slower by upto .3secs than if I change at 7,000rpm at each gearchange!

Just shows you Patrick. You would have thought it makes more sense to change @ peak power, but thats you and Daimo who regulary go down the strip saying its better to let it rev out. Do you think my explaination of things would be correct.

Daimo does not use the strip. Changing gear past peak power is a waste of time.

Change slightly above peak power, so that when the revs drop, you're back in rigtht up the power band. If you change below peak power, you'll be well out of your power band when you hit the next gear (unless you're lucky enough to have a close ratio 6-speed box that is.

Thats basically what I said. Only prob is you are gradually putting more wear on the engine than necessary. REBUILD!
