hey all my bonnet needs a re-spray and im gonna do it at collage , so im gona have ago at rubbing it down and getting it in primer ready for paint, the paint atm has slight bubbles all over it you can only see them when close or rub your hand over them, im just wondering if i can just rub it down and pait it with primer or do i need to treat the bonnet. also would i have to rub the pait compleatly off to bear metal or shall i just dull it off then spray it ? cheers

could be something underneath it coming through, best and easiest way is to get some paint stripper on it, then you have a perfect base

tom do i rub down high build primer? wet and dry ? need to get it ready for paint now

i block high build with 180, then DA with 320, 400, 800
last time i wet and dryed something was in 1999

i used to work for a coachworks that swore by there da's lol tends to be a bit scratchy on silver. alot quicker though

Da's are good if you block first and know how to use it correctly so as not to get it ripply. If you go to 800's you won't get scratches
