someone posted this link
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-149-XF
Which seems a good buy for the cash, could have saved a tenner if I bought it a few days ago but oh well, I'm not massively clued up on this type of stuff but I cant find a better card for that price, if you tech gods can then please link me so I can get a better deal
Thanks

Palit GTX 460 is around the £130 mark, very good card and can be overclocked fairly well using the standard cooler.

Pallit are awful, it's well known the fans don't last long and the bearings go a while. The 460 is indeed a awesome card for the cash tho. That card i linked (5770) is not as good as a 460 but still very capable.

For 100 dabs though it will do, right? I'll buy another in a few months and run them both together. I've had this 8600GT for about 3 years and it's not cutting it anymore.

I've read a few posts about palit and bearings but they have all been with older cards, not the 460. The Palit 460 is meant to be one of the best in the 460 range though and if you're worried about the fan then i'm sure you could mount a fan directly to the heatsink (http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/palit_gtx460_sonic_platinum/images/17.htm).
The MSI 5850 can be had for £120 and is marginally better than the 460 (460 @ stock, overclocked the 460 can be pushing on for 5870 stock figures), decent cooling and is should offer a decent overclock (might be pre-order at the minute as it came out a few days ago).
Would really consider adding an extra 20/30 quid to the budget though
Edit - I'd also check your PSU, as some of the cards draw 200w+

Yeah adding 20-30 to the budget would be a really good idea. A 5850 is also a bloody good card for the money too.

You might be alright (depends on the rest of the system), double check the connectors though as some cards require either 2x6pins or 1x6pin and 1x8pin.

That review i posted says the old 4870 is a better card and a lot cheaper that the MSI 5830, first time i've heard this. Saying that, 4870 are hard to come by now.
