Got my Slim for Xmas and using my old HDMI cable on it fine, but is there a cable out there which splits HDMI output into HDMI Video and then red/white audio jacks so I can still use my gaming chair? If so whats it called as 'HDMI splitter' in Google doesnt get me what I need...
Will THIS work? As in, will my video output still be 100% 1080p but I can then split my audio off in the same way I used to do it...
Cheers

That cable won't work as the xbox doesnt have the capability to split via HDMI... as per the comment
"- Work for the device which output properties can be change to Component Video + Audio through HDMI output port (for example: some media player, DVR)"
You need one of these
http://www.play.com/Games/Xbox360/4-/7766980/Exspect-Component-Cable-for-Xbox-360/Product.html?_%24ja=tsid:11518%7Ccat:7766980%7Cprd:7766980
You should get 1080p and analogue audio.
Or... what you can do is keep using HDMI... and then use one of these:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Xbox-360-Optical-Phono-Audio-Adapter-HDMI-Cable-UK-/170435052241?pt=UK_VideoGames_VideoGameAccessories_VideoGameAccessories_JN&hash=item27aeb882d1
It will allow you to keep using the HDMI connection... and then you have another plug coming out of the xbox that gives you optical or analogue RCA outputs

No audio output on the tv apart from headphones...as far as I can see anyway.
Might just use the component cable that came with the xbox, not that bothered about 1080p over better sound

The only cable that comes with the Xbox is a composite cable - you won't get HD at all through that and will look shite
If you've got headphone output on your TV.... then just buy one of these depending on how your gamechair connects up

It's definitely called component richie, its the ypbpr connector, and was set to display at 1080p on my old xbox and it displayed fine?
What's the difference between component and composite?

So whats the difference between the component cables and the HDMI cables?
This isnt a 'having a go' at anyone question, I genuinely want to know...
edit - AVFORUMS
quote: As long as you have a HDMI connection on your 360 (older ones don't) any HDMI cable should do the trick.
Component can do 1080p for games but can only do up to 1080i for films. If you have a TV capable of getting a 1080p image (and thats what you want for films) then you maybe better of using HDMI (the VGA cable can also do 1080p but you will need a TV that can take in a 1080p sinal via VGA).
I have my 360 running via component at 1080i and it works just fine and the HD picture is great in my opinion. The HD DVD playback at 1080i is good too although I have not seen the playback at 1080p (old 360 and I don't have a 1080p TV yet) and only tested my 360 on LCDs TV between 32"-42".

Component cables are analogue and don't support HDCP.
Digital is almost always better than analogue because you have no degredation of the signal moving it between points, the analogue signal gets worse (not much over a small cable) going from the xbox to the TV.
If you were watching a legit HD source (something like an HD-DVD, snarf snarf) because the component cables don't support the content protection they just lower the quality that the xbox is allowed to output.
Most people won't be able to tell the difference, I'd always have it at the highest quality though and that means HDMI.
