Seriously you are wasting money trying to squeeze more power out of a 1.2 - i have one too! Just save up for a 2.0l conversion - about £1200 i believe.

But a 2.0 16v aint insurance friendly. All those who have got 1.2 8v, is because they can't afford inusrance on anything else.
Thats y i dont post this question up no more, coz all ppl tell u, is to put a 1.6 16v or 2.0 16v in. Great.
Although there is nothing major u can do, but i would suggest:
*Keeps the engine well looked after + serviced
*Dont go bigger that 15"s
*Use a std air box (drilled), with performance panel filter with loadsa cold air feeds
*Uprated 2 core spark plugs
*Full exhaust system (de cat + no center silncer)
*Lexmaul 4-2-1 zaust manifold
*Lose as much weight (back seats etc) and No big ice install
*No bodykit (just adds extra wieght + air resistance)
Also, something i've always wanted to do, is turbo the 1.2 8v. The kit is around the £400 (imported).
With a cam and superchip, lookin at bout 90bhp with all of the above done. Not that rapid, but better. Also, u can have a dump valve!!!!!

turbo the 1.2 8v......for 400 quid, you'd also then need to uprate other components like head gasket, pipes and connections. Spark plugs wont help performance, just starting and may be better then others on a long journey, but will never add any bhp. Ive got Bosch super4's on mine, and there is no noticable difference from the standard GM ones.
And a bodykit weighs less then standard bumpers most of the time because its fibreglass not solid plastic.
The rest i agree with.

its not really worth it m8 - keep it for a couple of years n get ur no claims up, then think about changing ur motor for one with a bigger engine

nah, a brazilian guy on Migweg is selling the complete kit. i think its actually closer to £550 with everything (inc. taxes + postage). But he said thats everything u need.
Spark plugs, apprently u can actually feel the differencw with the Champion 2 core ones. Again, mig was the source for this info. But i agree, the bosch super 4 did nothing.
Erm front bumper. Honestly, go and wiegh a std black plastic front bumper, then weigh a combat from bumper with mesh and fogs!!! U'll find i'm right. Also, the rear, especialy the Euro rear.

Change the manifold for one of a 1.4 sri 8v, it has a much bigger bore and is 4-2-1 rather than 4-1, so will not restrict flow as much. Also pretty cheap if you pinch one off a car in the scrappy
