had a bit of fun with my mate the other night. i have a 1.4 corsa sport but its ten years older than his car and has done 108k. think his is around 47k. his car is a 1.2 but he claims it has 80bhp.
i know my car when new was 89bhp. his engine is standard and mine has a de restricted airbox and a janspeed de-cat. however its blowing in the middle pipe from where i had the center box removed.

but anyway it was basically exactly the same. should this be about right? i have put my pipercross induction back on and it feels a lot better top end. i know between about 1k-2.5k it was better down low with the airbox but now with the pipercross it feels much better especially past 3k

wouldn't have thought there would be much difference, I know my 1.4 C isn't really all that much quicker than 1.2 C's
Your exhaust blowing isn't really going to help matters!

The Twinport 1.2's are nippier (I'll refuse to use quick!) than you may expect!

But yes a blowing exhaust is never going to help matters Also down to the driver.

his is a twinport mate yes. not really much driving skill involved tbh pal it was pretty much dead straight road and i dropped it down a gear when he tried overtaking. in a way i could say i won cos he had a run up overtaking me. but he couldnt pass me and was forced to cut back in

small litre cars are full of win tbh, ragging the nuts of them and not really going anywhere and still getting reasonable mpg

It must have been such a race to watch. You should have filmed it, at least you can put videos over ten minutes on youtube now so we could have seen them get to 100

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

I generally think that a Corsa with a 1.4 or below wil be as slow as any other really. My 1.4 c doesn't feel any quicker than my 1.0 b
