I've had a few of these recently and today's a major one. Genuinely thinking about packing it in, cutting my losses and selling the house and beggaring off abroad.

Friend of mine did it, does the same job as me but travelled around Europe, Middle East and US since uni - no more than 3-4months at any one company and has just landed a £100k a year job plus 50k yacht completion bonus with all living expenses paid living in Monaco. He's 4 years odler than me and tbh was shit at uni.

Anyone else have days/weeks/months where they just think about completely changing life?

If you feel so strongly then do it, other wise you will regret it later in life when you wont have the chance anymore. Moving to Scotland was the best thing I ever did, I had fuck all when I came here, it was like starting all over again.

Not quite as extreme as you but I'm gettin pretty restless where I'm at now. Been doin the same thin with the same people for 3 years and can't be arsed anymore I feel I need change in my life. Need to finish this year at college, get next years finance sorted then might just fuck off abroad and come back in time to start next September

I did similar when I binned off the hotel industry. I'd had enough after 8 years. Rediculous hours, loads of stress, tosser of a boss, i'd had an affair with one of my staff, nearly lost everything.

So one day at work rang the wife and said, I think I want out. And she just said, hand your notice in NOW then. So I did. Tbh she'd told me previously I could quit anytime I wanted.

Had 6 months off, recharged batteries, got a new job which I loves.

Best thing I have ever done. So if I can do it at 29, when married and with a kid, then you definatley can with no strings.

The house is my tie; on one hand if I finish it I could sell it and get a nice lump sum of capital behind me, on another I could rent it and have an income regardless of where/what I did at least to keep a base.

The main thing is to fuck it and sell it, maybe pocket a bit of capital but not much but at least have no ties, at the same time have nothing really to show for 3 years of effort or finish it and then go and do something.

not rentable yet! Downstairs is a building site, as in compelte buidling site!

Just looking at contracting positions now; Ideally, I need something which will pay until the house is finished so 12months-18months at a push. That would be the head screwed on approach
