Well I dropped it off this morning and its costing me £350 which is £100 down on the price they quoted me over the phone The joys of needing 6 plugs instead of 4 and extra oil the big engine needs

They just phoned with 4 advisories, first was the headlight washers needed a fuse, the aux belt needs doin and the brake fluid is due a change.

Also it will need 4 new tyres in the very near future. This is where I dont know what to do, either fit 4 new falkens or just bite the bullet and get new alloys mmmm

Just thought i'd share as i'm bored out my tits waiting on the car lol.

Ojc - I did that, it was a fuckin money pit. As soon as I sold it the manifold cracked on the guy the next day so even more money to get spent on fixing the thing.

Danny - I'm thinkin on something oem merc/audi/bmw/bentley/maybach kinda thing but there's a hell of a lot to choose from.

Its £280 for the service and a further £80 for the haldex oil & filter then another £160 for the DSG oil but lucky for me I dont have this.

I told them they must have quoted me on the DSG and an air filter both of which I dont need.

Most of the cash is the fact it needed 6 plugs instead of the 4 and there bloody expensive ones and it needs another 1.5ltrs of oil compared to the standard size engines.

it also had the haldex oil and filter changed along with the pollen filter.

Then theres the usual checks, lube for all hinges etc.

I know about the tyres but its there job to tell me everything they find.

Sounds fine to me my Clio cost more to service even using a specialist which I travelled down to the coast to use.

Was this a dealer or a specialist? As long as you find a VAT registered specialist I would use them instead of dealers.
