Tried alot today to get mine working. No joy, been reading online and says need to extend it? although I've never heard of anyone doing it this way?

if youve used a spacer on the rear gearbox mount then the linkage will need to be extended to the thickness as spacer, every time ive done the 2.0 conversion ive had to use spacers but some people say they didnt have to, all down to what mounts you use i think. also when using a homemade linkage you sometimes have to bend the bit of the linkage that sits to the drivers side of the car away from the steering rack as sometimes you cant select certain gears as it fouls

I just remmebered the gear linkage was extended, as remember seeing it welded up and mate pointing it out (sorry been a long few days mega tired)
you may have a point with steeering rack though will look

normally when this is the case you will only get 2nd and 4th but none of the forward facing gears as thats when the linkage come back and fouls the rack

Cheers I'm not sure if we used a spacer for gearbox, i still ahve one i bought left, but i have a fw mounts already too, as alot was stil fitted to engine
