Train is your best bet. If you're set on driving i'd park on the outskirts and under/overground it in as it's £10 quid for the congestion charge and most car parks tend to be NCPs ie: a rip off (last time 6hrs cost me £68).

Park Lane (link adio posted) is a good shout to be honest, although it'll be a complete mare of a drive and actually get in there might be an issue. Although apparently you can pre-book, which would be worth doing.

Pick an underground on the outskirts and train it in. I've done Harrow a few times and it's been alright.

Just get the train, as said you wil lspend most of the day on the tube anyways so the train is the easy bit

i always park at harrods car park, think its about £25 for the whole day and you know its safe, also they are a valet service so you dont need to walk around the carpark.
get on the tube from there

Yup, it's just outside CC boundary. Plus i'm not sure what Mayfair has to do with it as the car park is the other end of Park Lane. Most people in Mayfair tend to park in the NCPs under the hotels (which is what i do if i need to be there) or around Hyde Park.
