Afternoon all

Had my car booked at Pro-tyre to have to continental sports fitted and balanced etc for £190.00 at the weekend.

Found out through work that we own a unit that a tyre bloke operates out of, he did me a deal at £160.00 cash.

Rang back Pro-Tyre to cancel and they can do it at £150.00...

I didn't think they would be so easy to knock the price down?

larger stores usually buy in massive bulk so get big discounts from manufacturers.

elite direct near where i live were cheaper than anywhere else around even though they employ shit loads of people and its a huge premises.

All the places i have worked at have been in the region of a 30 - 40% mark up! and thats from a wholesaler - not a tyre company!

so i cant even begin to imagine the true cost price of tyre!

pro-tyre are not the biggest of companies. i used to work next door at auto windscreens and they were never busy

I buy from stapletons.. I used to mark up around 30% at alfa.
