Anyone got some? Your opinion on them? (if you have them)

I had my eye test today and enquired about laser treatment which I was told I cannot have due to me being long sighted

so next step is contact lenses. I've worn glasses since the age of 2 and now being 25 I fancy a change. I got my free trial next thursday but dont know if they will be good or not.

Yeah I use contacts! No real issues with them to be honest! Took me a couple of weeks to get used to putting them in and take them but stick with it and before you know it you've been using them for years and don't think anything of it!!

I still catch myself out when I'm tired and rub my eyes and they sometimes move and go behind my eyelid but it feels so good when u finally get it out!

Long run I'd say get the monthly ones that u take out each night and put in solution cos they work out a lot cheaper I find. I lay £15 a month!

Would also say keep a pair of glasses with ur latest prescription in still just in case! Sometimes if I'm tired or got a long day I'll wear my glasses instead cos towards the end of day I find contacts get a bit dry!

So yeah, no real issues

i have contacts had disposables and monthlys (currently on monthlys)

monthlys cheaper but i can tell they are in my eyes but i can also wear them for longer as they let more oxygen in.

dailys more expensive but didnt feel them plus dont have to worry about keeping them safe/clean etc.

currently wearing my glasses as they have irritated my eyes all day and as jamie says they do have a tendancy to move around etc.

also make sure you put them in the right way round back to front hurts .

I want contacts but i am a wimp when it comes to things going in my eye!

I tried to get them, well, when i say tried, i simply mean that my eye would not open! As soon as i put the lens anywhere near my eye, its goes into some bloody stupid spazzy fit and i cant stop blinking!

Pretty annoying to be honest because i could do with contacts!

I have them, got the ones you can wear all the time, have no problems with them. Had them for about 6 years now. Will be getting laser surgery in the next few years though.

Monthly I've been quoted £23 as my perscription is bad.

I'm dreading it but I've wore glasses for just over 23 years so want to try something new.

i've had contacts for about 5 years now.

i wear them all day, every day, so my eyes do get dry and my eyelids get red and puffy but i do shift work and don't want to wear glasses so it's a sacrifice i have to make.

when i mean long hours, i mean it. 5:45am-11:00pm and 8:00am-7:00am the next day etc etc.

I tried contacts yesterday. Felt weird walking up and down the street without my glasses and being able to see things. Get mine next Thursday.

I wear daily disposables, think I pay £10 a month of the internet. Been wearing lenses for about 5-6 years and been using daylies for about 2 years much better than monthlys I had before.

Take a bit of getting used to but stick with it.

I have the daily, find them far easier than monthly, no messing about with solution or cleaning them every day and you dont need to remember when you put them in

i had monthlys but ended up ripping or losing or not knowing how long I had them in for and after a month the can start to starve your eye of oxygen or something like that

I get my contact lenses from boots, get free health checks, free eye tests and money off glasses. Under their payment plan which is a direct debit that costs no more than other places tbf.

Wear mine quite a lot but long shifts at work sometimes drys them out - and I'm rubbish at getting them out of my eye on a good day. Sometimes spend 20 mins getting them out

I've been wearing contacts for 12 years.. Much less hassle than glasses and they've probably saved my eyes a few times from flying bits of metal/debris..

If you go for them definitely get dailys! Monthlys are not worth the agro.

I get mine from contactlens.co.uk normally works out about £15/month.

Yea just need you to tell them your prescription, I still go to the opticians for eye tests and check ups though.

By law a contact prescription only lasts a year and to sell them you are meant to check the person has a valid perscription so you wll always need to have checkups

Some retailers don't check but IMO its not worth the risk. I would rather spend the month on checkups than find i am going to go blind because I did not get checked out.

I use them occasionally ~30 pairs a year, get the on the internet and just get a yearly checkup
