Hey guys! Was wondering, i bought a new car and swapped insurance from my old car to new one! But my old one needs m.o.t before i sell it! Now ive heard rumors that you can take your car to an m.o.t without insurance?! Is this true??

No, you can maybe get away with taking it to get mot'd without a valid mot if you have it booked in

No, hence why Adam said 'no'. You can drive it there without an MOT, as long as you've pre-booked the MOT and the car has both tax and insurance.

The only way you can legally get it there is on a trailer.

Basically No you can't dude.

No Insurance = Heafty fine & points.

He meant if it didn't have M.O.T on the car, you'd be ok as you'd be taking it for it's M.O.T.

You may be confused with the no tax when going to take the car for an MOT. You have to be insured but providing the garage has you booked in for an MOT, you are allowed to drive directly to the MOT test station with no tax and back to the registered address on the V5. You cant tax a car without a valid MOT certificate

I don't wear knickers mate.

I only tried to help you by telling you what you can do legally, so there was no need for the moaning tbf.

Possibly ask a garage if they could collect the car with trade plates. as they would be on a trades insurance so can drive your car with ur permission. This mite cost a bit extra tho.

Or use day insurance.

I insured a 1.6 Astra Club last year for the day for £16.50.
