I had a new downpipe, CAT and centre section without silencer. Trouble is I kept the standard backbox and it sounds like a tractor my plan failed.

Anyone got a vid of Corsa 1.6 16v with straight through centre section? Just hope if I put a decent backbox on it will sound a bit better

Will it still pass noise regs straight through though? What about just changing the rear box

I have in the past run my 1.6 with a 4 branch, cat, straight through centre pipe and a remus back box, and have to say it was fooking loud, had it like that for a month and had to put a silencer in the centre to quieten it down, it depends what your tastes are towards loud exhausts and how much attention you want to draw to yourself, the police love stopping people with loud exhausts and inconviencing you.

Take it you meant Sportex?

If so, I have the same on mine - Sportex 4-1 Manifold, Decat, 'Race Tube' Centre, and Backbox - got through the Combe Noise test fine like that

I think it's just the standard back box causing the issue, it's the noise it makes not the loudness of it
