Just been asked I.D at a petrol station.......for a lottery ticket

I thought surely if you're old enough to drive then you can gamble?

I looked at him stunned and actually in his face! He then come out with "It's my hjob to challenge people who look young..surely I dont look 15?

Has anyone else been asked I.D for something silly?

Most places are running that silly "challenge 25" policy or whatever it is now. Seems a bit OTT to me though seeing as once you're over 18 most things are legal

I don't seem to get I.D'd that much anymore - which is surprising being such a babyface!

I always used to get it in a shop about 3 mile from my house. after months of proving I was old enough he lost my custom...I couldn't be bothered trying to prove my age when I knew he knew me.

I was in a Tesco with my step-dad, I was buying some Euromillions tickets and he was getting some dog food or summat, I went to buy my tickets and I was ID'd too, I was 21 at the time

Having only £3 in my pocket and no ID I had to stand there like a twat while my dad bought me my lotto tickets

I preferred to risk it when i worked on the tills

So what if that 14 year old buys a knife, i bet all his mates are carrying too.

I never used to get ID'd when I was underage, now I'm para about looking old before my time I love it when a supermarket check out bird asks for ID cause "you definately look over 18, its just we have to ID if we think you're under 25"

Thats about the only thing I ever get ID'd for now, even buying knives and paint in Halfords they dont question me

Get id'd for booze every now and then but although I look over 18, I don't really look 25 even though I'm 28.

I always remember my mate from work going into the petrol station to fill up when it was still only 16 you had to be to buy fags. He's walked up to the counter, keys in hand with no-one sitting in his motor and said 'petrol in pump 2 and 20 Mayfair please' to which he got asked for ID - legal age to drive a car is 17, he was actually 18 at the time anyway He went off his nut and told them to stick the packet up their arse sideways, was always a bit hot headed.

I'm definitely at the age (26) that getting Asked is a compliment and usually puts a smile on my face for the next hour or so because there's so many people my age that look fucked! I figure that for as long as I get I'd I can continue to lie to girls in nightclubs about my age
