Hiya everyone. This is my first post on here, heres my story-
At the minute I have a Punto GT Turbo and its rated at 160Bhp as it is now. I've recently bought a meaty hybrid for it which along with another £400 worth of bits will take me to 175/180Bhp with a hell of alot of torque 
With the big turbo on and running correctly my car will run the 1/4 mile in about 14.9 seconds on a good run. Now I've heard that you can stick a 2.0l turbo in a Corsa and it'll run low 14's, possibly even high 13's straight up!
After hearing this I want to look into it a little and see what it will cost me. I could sell my Punto and the hybrid and make anything inbetween £4700 and £5000 so thats what I have to work on.
I want to know which is the best Corsa to put a 2.0L turbo in?
What sort of money do the engines cost?
Will the Corsa chassis and shell etc take the extra power?
Really I just want to know everything thats envolved in as much detail as possible. I'm really interested and I'm really up for selling my Punto and having a 2.0l turbo Corsa.
Anyone with experience or knowledge please give me info. Also, if any of you have 2.0l or 2.0l turbo Corsa's then please tell me your experiences and 0-60 and/or 1/4 miles times?

it really depends.. t5he new corsac is built really well.. and can handle the power of phsase 3.5+ easily.. altough so can the corsa b.. but u would maybe wana seam weld the engine bay..
it is posible to hit an quater mile in the 13's but it also depends on being able to get the traction down... suspension modifications is a must
most peeps tend to go the c20xe with TB's as lucky B set up was pushing 250 bhp N/A engine and hit 0-60 in 4.9 secs...
as for the c20let engine you can pick up from £800 and onwards.. depending on the condition..
also another thing is for pushing out bhp with minimal cost.. turbo is the way to go.... u could go via the easy setp and purchase the phase kits on a standard engine.. and push out over 300bhp
or you could rebuild the engine without the use of any phase kits to push out 300bhp..but its alot of money.... involving low comp pistons, hybrid, uprated engine management system etc etc..
for the conversion. the main parts.
engine and all ancillaries, all pipework, loom , ecu, driveshafts, engine mounts, gearbox, rad, fan , intercooler, uprated fuelling system, an engine fitter and also a DUMP VALVE

Erm, I'm clueless when it comes to Corsa's etc, so when you say "Corsa B" I don't really know what you are refering to.
I was planning on putting a set of either Koni adjustables or Koni coilovers and wider, 15 inch, wheels straight on the thing before I even get started with the engine for slightly better traction.
First things first, which Corsa is the best to take on the 2.0L turbo - just so I can start looking at prices in Auto trader for the actual car.
I've seen the Corsa you mentioned with the 2.0L 16v in it, its white I think, it ran 4.96 to 60 at a Saxo vs Corsa day  thats freakin balistic for a FWD!!

Corsa B = older style corsa (As below!)
Corsa C = new style corsa
Dont have a pic but the one's made from 2000 (i think) onwards
(Corsa A's are Nova's)
If you have 5k to spend then you'll be looking at corsa B to have some money left for the eng etc

2lt turbo engine 1000
fitting parts for 2lt turbo 1000'ish
serive parts about 200 (as will have change with fitting parts)
V6 Big Brakaes 200
coilovers 500
zorst 250
total - 4150
i rec all in with fitting of engine and bits about 5k all in
not bad really Corsa 2lt turbo
BUT u can buy a 2lt turbo corsa for less then that second hand (if u can find one) the above is if u want to make one....

as for 1/4 mile a standard 2lt (adam K) will do low 14's and about 6.5 to 60

aint looked at the conversion for a bit. sorted everything except cheap shafts. aint got time to look for an engineering company either so unless my mate looks its gonna be 300quid ones

Wow, that white 2.0l 16v Corsa on TB's is pretty damn awsome. Thanks for the replys everyone.
I've had alook on the PVD site and it seems you CAN'T put a 2.0l turbo in the smaller engined corsas - 1.4 8v and below. Isn't there a Corsa you can recommend to me? I'm wanting to fit 15's to the car so one that maybe can take 7 inch wide wheels as standard? I would like power steering as well Also, some one mentioned seem welding - will I need this?
Please as much advice and pointers I can get. Anyone who has had this sort of conversion please tell me everything thats envolved etc.

no welding needed, corsa are alot stronger then Novas
ANY corsa will do, Jill off here, we fitted a 2lt 16v in hers and that was a 1lt 12v, so ANY CORSA WILL DO

Ok, whats the F20 and F28 gear box's, I see the fast white Corsa has the F20.

F20 is what everone uses really, can use others.
as for F28 thats the six speed and takes alot more work to get that in, and will also need a FWD blanking plate

Does the F20 come with the kit or do you have to buy them seperatly?
What about such things as the clutch. Will the clutch come with the engine or kit?

From PVD u get the fitting kit which includes hubs, shafts, engine mounts ect
u need to buy seperatly C20LET engine (2.0 Turbo), ecu, loom, exhaust manifold and preferbly a F28 gearbox converted to FWD (PVD charge £130 for thi i think) ull eat F20s for breakfeast with the turbo engine
so engine, loom, ecu, manifold, gearbox = around 1000-1200, PVD fitting kit = £700 i think, F28 FWD conversion kit = £130 i think, then fitting = £500+ depending where u go

f20 doesnt come with the kit, clutch doesnt come either. If u want to run an f20 off a c20let get a f20 flat type flywheel(easier to change clutches as you dont need to drop out the box, just swap thru inspection cover)
Get a helix cerametallic paddle clutch.
an f20 pot type flywheel will do but will mean box off to change clutch = more wasted time.

If its just speed your after, get a nova rather than the corsa and it will be quicker.

Anyway panace, you want a Corsa that originally has a 1.4 16v/1.6 16v engine as these came with both rear and front anti-roll bars. The bottom end corsas didnt come with front, and some didnt even get back ones either. Stick with the F20 gearbox since these are lighter and FWD. The F28 is a lot stronger and is a 4WD gearbox. It can be converted to FWD with a blanking plate, but will cost you £150. The F20 is a bit weaker and you will have to take it easy otherwise you will end up stripping your gearbox dry!
