No, they'll be going up again in April

Might drop a couple of pence at some point but will never go near the £1 a litre everyone seems to want

If anything I've got more money now than I did at any point in the last two years, but thats just because I've become obsessed with not spending & writing everything down. Petrols abit shit but what can you do? Walk places that don't really need driving too but other than that and public transport you're bummed really. Only filled up once since mid December, eco driving ftw

I get all the usual increases then have the bastards at TFL putting my travelcard up even more

Payrise used to be more than the increase in living, now it usually matches, managed to squeeze bonuses out of them last year so will hopefully do the same this year.

Contract ended mid July last year so took a 1/3rd pay drop. With the fuel rise and weekly food shop now costing more I'd by lying if I said I hadn't noticed it and had to start budgeting a lot more.

Takes the piss to be honest, always seem to get kicked in the teeth when we are down.

I heard that a government minister said fuel prices may go up to £1.60 odd within this year
I highly doubt that will happen but still could.

I hate to boast (honestly) but I really haven't noticed any difference in the general cost of living, I'm even putting MORE away in savings and buying for the Corsa.

Diesel cost is the only thing that's I really see, but then it's about £4 a week more than a couple of months ago. I just try and drive to work now in eco mode

And bonus's? Payrise? FLOL Public sector pay freeze and there's no such thing as a bonus

But Dave you live at home, Don't have *that* far to commute, have very few outgoings and can afford to save.

The cost of Gas and Electricity, any homeowner will have been hit by that. The cost of food in the supermarket, not your fancy M&S lunch but things like washing powder, toilet roll, cleaning stuff, thats where it is most obvious.

£4 a week for fuel is nothing I agree, It cost's me an extra £12/£15 a week just on commuting. In the grand scheme of things thats £60 a month against £16.

I agree it's affecting people more than others. TBH I hope all this shit teaches people to live inside their means!

You are not in a place to comment Dave. You live a cushy life at home.

Living in your means is fine, however when the cost of everything else goes up except your wage, "living inside your means" takes on a whole new term.

I'm probably down around £700 of my take home pay from this time last year, however my bills have gone up.

My monthly outgoings have gone up around £100 a month since then as well, not because I have started living "outside my means" but because rates and necessities have gone up. I have stopped smoking, I very rarely drink (maybe 3 pints every other weekend), and I can't remember the last time I bought something for myself i.e. luxuries.

And the thing is, i'm in the majority of this country, you're the minority Dave, so don't criticize everyone else. Gonna fall out with you boy over this
