Grey area, yes they are legal as the cover all areas (i have them and have never been pulled for them as their cameras can still read them) BUT.....

It states that anything other than the original style plate is illegal.
So basically your ok untill you meet a police officer thats a jobsworth

Gareth if you have been fisted by the law for dubmeister plates I suggest you get the name of the officer and fist him! They are 1000% legal, confirmed by dubmeister, traffic police who tugged me, and the many police who have pulled over my mates mk1 polo!

Dubmeister ones are 100% legal, only difference to normal plates is that they're made from metal.

So glad this thread has come up.

Got a few questions..

I know for plates to be legal, they have to have the maker name, or whatever in the bottom right corner and have to be a specific lettering width, so what do peeps do with cut down plates? Do people cut plates down themselves or do places like dubmeister cut them down if you specified it?

I had 3D carbon domed plates from demonplates on my first car (Clio) and didn't think anything of it and was never pulled.

Do you mean just shortened at the ends or the letters all squashed together?
