I'm still deciding weather or not to upgrade to a arden blue sport seeing as Insurance would be ridiculous on any type of engine conversion bigger than a 1.4, I was hoping you lot could tell me if examples like this pop up alot? Or are they pretty rare as I can't really afford one till after summer. Looks basically mint to me, low mileage and not that expensive.

Sounds good. I picked a 1.6 sport, black, minor bonnet bubbling and 82k for 650. see if you can go have a look and haggle. Seems nice though.

I guess they come up every now and then. You will find another just keep on the lookout. I knew i wanted a 1.6 after my gsi. And then saw a black gsi and though i wanted one so all i was looking for was a mint unmodified black 1.6 which took a while.

Spose I'm in no rush so will just have to be patient

They're getting rare now in that condition. Looks about as clean as mine, and I was searching for a while.

That would mean waiting 2 years from June lol. Would rather buy one this summer, tidy it up and modify the exterior, then do an engine conversion the following year X18XE1

I wouldn't buy it because there is no evidence of service history! Mine was on 68k (1.6) and the big ends went. I blame that on it clearly hadn't been serviced

The good thing with you sean is if you find an arden blue sport you still have yours to put any bits on. I have had 2 1.6 srden blue sports and both were really good condition. I paid no more than £800 for them each

my arden was up for £750 an i ended up paying £50 for it as they got it in part ex an really didn't want it, so there are bargins to be had. mines got full service history an the only problem being a rusty front lip on the bonnet.
when your ready to buy one keep looking on autotrader and you will find a few decent ones tbh

low mileage sports appear all the time
my 36k sport was good till 50k or 60k then engine blew but i think it may have been clocked
current 1.6 is at 93k, the sport engines really need looking after from the start! so its hit band miss really!
