Bought a MK4 Astra GSI in Sapphire black metallic so i thought i might as well put a project thread up.
Spec is as follows:
Sapphire black metallic,
53500 miles,
Factory 6 CD changer,
Factory HID front lights.
Upgrades fitted by previous owner are:
Astra VXR Turbo fitted,
Miltech stainless steel exhaust,
Stainless steel pre-cat pipe,
High flow sports cat,
Eibach Sportsline spring kit -45mm front -30mm rear,
Bilstein B8 shocks front and rear.
Was great to get behind the wheel of a Vauxhall again, felt right at home. Especially when 30 miles into the journey home the ECU light came on
So first job tomorrow is borrow my mates snap-on code reader and see what i have broken on it already and then do a few niggling little jobs on it. One been replacing a dash light as the fuel gauge is not illuminated at the moment.
Pics to follow tomorrow when i have washed it.

Small update, dash is out and its just a blown bulb so a new set are on order, ecu light was on cause of the first lambda sensor. Wonder if this could be down to it having been sat around for a while then taken for a long run? Anyhow i have cleared the fault and will see if it comes on again.
Ordered a powerflex front lower engine mount bush so hopefully that and the bulbs might turn up tomorrow so i can sort those few bits out.

How do you do the pedal test?
My mates just got one last night and typically engine light came on way home too.
He also said its not very smooth coming on boost in higher gears.

Not sure about the pedal test tim. I just borrowed my mates fault code reader. Mine drove fine despite the light been on.
Anyhow got a dent man round at the moment and he is just sorting out two little dings on it at the moment.
Bought a Courtenay sport side mount front intercooler which should complement the VXR turbo nicely. Next will be a set of vxr injectors, a vxr afm and a remap i think.

Fitted the powerflex front lower engine mount bush this morning. Very easy to fit and meant to improve the gearshift:

The difference in gear change when fitting the uprated gearbox mount is unreal. My astra was shit from 2nd to 3rd at high revs but after I fitted the powerflex mount it would select gears perfect every time.

Been ordering and buying a few bits second hand while i am away.
So far i have on order:
Z20LEx balance shaft deletion kit,
ARP bolts to fit while i have the sump off,
Parts for a full service (in stock amongst all my parts!),
Courtenay side mount intercooler.
Trying to make a decision on wheels as well, think i might just buy some less battered snowflakes for now and sell these for what little they will fetch. Everyone is curbed and they have been badly refurbed in the past.
So once i get home i am going to wash and wax it to get it looking better.

Then i fitted some insignia washer jets:
And i might take the sump off tomorrow as these have arrived today:
So now i have the balancer shaft deletion pack and a set of ARP's to go in it.

The old wheels have been sold i think.
Spent all afternoon swearing at the fucking thing. Only vauxhall could make a car that is a right twat to get the sump off. Ended up undoing the engine mount on the drivers side, removing the front lower engine mount and lifting the engine on the drivers side.
Anyhow got there in the end, the sump is off, rod bolts changed and balancer shafts removed. Awaiting a Autovaux order tomorrow with 4 new main bolts in and half my headlight washer parts.

Just waiting for the washer jet to arrive off Autovaux and my Courtenay side mount intercooler then i can refit the front bumper.
In the meantime i have done/ordered the following:
Had 4 new goodyear eagle f1's fitted,
Sump off and removed the balancer shafts and fitted the ARP's,
Ordered a roosesport cdti airbox hose kit and front silicone oil breather pipe,
Bought a milltek resonated centre section (non resonated one made my ears bleed!),
Sorted all the bumper mounted pipework for the headlight washer jets.
Pics from today before it went to my mates garage to have a few jobs sorted:

Well todays jobs look something like this. Had a nice parcel off Marc Hedley:
But to fit that i need a new lower boost hose of larger bore or at least a joiner and a silicone reducer.
Then these bits arrived with the post man, my much needed washer jets that Autovaux had to order from Germany:
So i set to with the drilling and cutting:
All fitted:
I also managed to wreck my iphones screen during the course of the day:
