Has anybody got any experiences with the Mercedes CL on a '00 - '05 plate?

Been looking at these as a next car and insurance etc is good, running costs not such an issue and wanted to know if anybody had driven one or had expereince owning one.

Oh yea, looking at the CL500

Opinions would be great!

In that case it will be hugely comfortable with an excellent engine and fantastic brakes. It will no doubt handle like. Boat, be absolutely HUGE and drink petrol like theres no oil shortage.

So in short a good tourer and very comfy but not that practical?

Immense value to buy Merc parts are silly money mind

I would go for the SL500 instead tbh, only a fraction of the size so you would think itl be a bit better for fuel and looks much nicer, especially once you amg style it.

One hell of a lot of kit for the money. Have a few on the books - love them!

Not driven them as such, just moved them round on the drive.

Hydraulic / airbag suspension, double glazing, massage seats, electric seats front & rear, tv, sat nav etc etc etc.

Not actually heard of a great deal going wrong on them either tbh which is surprising with just how much gadgetry is on them.

They do rust in the arches though as they trap dirt. Merc should sort it under paintwork warranty though.

I don't recall any of my clients ever saying anything bad about them mechanically, no.

I'm meant to be doing one of them in the next couple of weeks; I'll have another chat with him!

Most of my clients have had them since new or are 2nd owner, and now won't sell them on as they're worth bugger all, but got so much kit on them, you'd struggle to buy another car similar unless you forked out £50k+ on a new car!

I can't wait for the replacement of these to come down in price. Epic machines! I had to be prized out of one in MBworld seats are basically armchairs and I know that is a common adjective for car seats but they really really are! So comfy and huge

cheap to buy not cheap to maintain properly, you would have to be very brave to buy one of these things,
they are a good looking barge though,
