£97.60 for a boost hose elbow. Stupid design with lugs and the pipe is actually pushed inside the intercooler, rather than over the top and with a jubilee clip. Couldve got it for £80 but that was a 120 mile round trip so VW was nearer.
Once the lugs are worn the pipe comes off slightly and just a downwards slope of boost pipes coming off after that, wheel arch liner has to come off to gain access.
The culprit
First expense iv really had in nearly 3 years with it, apart from servicing, brakes and tyres so cant complain

£100
I dont think there is suck a thing as a manufacturer that has cheap parts. No matter what car you say your going to buy people will always say "parts are expensive on them"
They all are!

im pretty sure SFS do adaptors for normal hoses to connect to VAG ones and a small silicone elbow could be had off ebay for not a lot of money. could have done it for half the price IMO
100 quid for that, your facking kidding me arn you

Aye I dare say I couldve looked about for an alternative but needed it asap really. Not sure If a silicon elbow and jubilee wouldve worked as the intercooler join isnt smmoth /flush for the pipe to clamp on to.
And aye Jambo it was £100 just for that!
Undertray will look wierd as I left it on but removed the arch liner which bolts to it

Wasn't there an alternaative to the genuine VAG ones on Seat cupra.net? Can remember a lot of people moaning about them on there.

Nae sure, I did read a few threads about them and only real method was using a self tapper screw to hold it in place. Even just revvin the car was enough for the hose to part slightly so would probably come half off on the road and under load

I only ever blew the one which goes into the top of the IC, put it back in then did a jubilee clip over the top on an angle and it never came loose again

New hose on today, felt alot tighter going on and needed some force rather going on loosely like the previous. Cars back on the road today too, happy days

Now my interior light or warning buzzer doesnt come on, and the automatic locks still lock the car even though iv opened the door (going to end up locking my keys in) because the microswitch in the mechanism is broken and is £90 to replace!

i always check out after market stuff before buying VAG stuff. Certain things i would only buy vag, for example it worked out cheaper to buy a whole set of samco hoses than buying a few coolant hoses from vag

The door switches are cunts, apparently it's dry solder joints that cause it?

ford parts are generally fairly reasonable but then sometimes they are stupid, im not sure how somethings they can do cheap others are ridiculous.
e.g. heater control valve, 25 quid, abs sensor 100 quid

Iv found a how to on seatcupra net, and the astic button wears down too which is common
Youv'e to remove the door card and metal door card to get access and tape your window up to secure it from falling down. The switch is on a cam and wear down, if you turn the switch 180deg its onto a fresh bit and should last longer. Il give it a try sometime, cheaper than £90 and if it doesnt work il replace the switch

what gets me is that ford sell VR6 parts, as it was used in the galaxy (far, far away)
but Ford sell the same VW bits, cheaper than VW and also Ford will sell separate parts on somethings, rather than saying you have to buy a complete assembly because you need 1 little bit from it

I did it on my Ibiza, stripped the passenger one all down and did it all.
I took the window out, it's really easy to do that. The hardest bit is getting the lock cyclinder out, turn the screw that releases is while spraying a shitload of WD in there, then get someone to turn it while you carry on pulling quite hard. It does come but it's a bit of a fight.
