What are people's opinions on these?
Systems in cases like this for example:
Either as a general use PC or as a HTPC?

these are also known as shuttles arnt they?
lad i work with loves them, he has a home server and he has that in his living room so he can stream films etc from his server onto the tele.
i suppose they are ok, but i wouldnt be expecting them to be able to run games very well.

Surely it just depends whether you like that shape of case or not
Can get bits to fit them that are as powerful as a bigger form factor now.

the motherboard alone for some powerful PC's are bigger than the case itself.
try fit a watercooled i7 920 with 8GB ram and SLi 470's in that case.

It all depends what you want it to do I guess. I would prefer a small tower to that personally but only becauseI dont like how they look....
Would be ok for just a workstation, ie web browsing, bit of office etc....wouldn't bother for anything more intensive though...

I used to have one. Was a decent spec at the time.
Personally i don't see the point these days. You either want something such as a Mac Mini or a full size Desktop.
My old P4 with 2GB a RAM i sold to a mate a few years back - fetched just over £100 on eBay last week.

I've seen watercooled Shuttle's before, so it's not impossible, i've also seen a pc built into a RC car shell though..

That is my question TBH, just wondering what people's thoughts on this type of case were, rather than what you can get in there?

I think times have moved on Sam. It was good 4 years ago. Now we have cheap laptops, mac mini's and the traditional Desktop PC.
That's just my thoughts.

In that case(get it), unless it's a really special one then no, they look a bit crap.

Morex cubid would look nice in my living room. Similar to my stereo.

They look good, but some have overheating problems.
Parts can be a bugger to get too...
