Reckon the attendances in the Championship are high enough to warrant such a large stadium?

according to karen brady from 25,000 for an athletics event to 50,000 for football to 105,000 for concerts.
West ham should get it, if the board keep to what they said 'bringing football back to the masses' e.g. Cutting ticket prices to fill a larger capacity, then that's got to be a good thing.
With regards to the running track, couldnt they put temp flooring for football matches and make it terracing? There was talk about bringing standing back a while ago, would help with the atmosphere.
Not guaranteed championship football tho i'll admit it looks fairly likely unless something major happens

Do West Ham really think they would fill (even get anywhere near filling) a 60k seater stadium?! Don't even think Spurs would fill it

They'll never allow terracing again at top level english football.
Because whenever you put a lot of fans together standing up, everyone dies...obviously. Just like they do in Germany.
Oh wait.

Maybe with super cheap tickets. Which is why Leyton Orient are up in arms about it.

£46 for adults admission. Are they really going to drop prices down to £30 or lower if they stay in the prem?

Should have given in to spurs imo.
Using that stadium as it is for a football round will be like watching at brightons old ground! no atmosphere and shit views will in time kill the support!
Apparently due to the football season and commitments the stadium will be barely ever allowed to use it for athletics anyway

Best news we could have hoped for, bring on the building of our new stadium where Spurs planned to rebuild the athletics ground

Can't be worse than what we're doing, building a stunning 40,000 seater stadium when our average attendance is 13000

That's what the board promised when they took over the club. I know that means nothing, but that was their word, bring football back to the common man etc... And if derby can get 35k a game, with how shit they are, then hopefully people will continue to go
Should never have gone to spurs, it's miles away from them, the stadium is in Newham, which is the same district as West Ham. They only wanted it because it'd save them money
If the Olympic commitee had any foresight when they built it they would of made it with moveable seats etc... there's wonderful grounds all over the world that accomodate all sports without any reservations, we could of created that, but instead spent £500m on a running stadium
also, this is my opinion as a far away west ham fan, i'll admit i've bever been to upton park, been to watch them away at everton and villa etc...can't afford a 100 round trip for a football match atm.
Will be interesting to see what Jrs take is on all this...
Besides, Brady said the other day, that the furthest seat at this stadium will still be closer to the pitch than Wembley.
and tbf, West Hams average attendance is 33,000 in a 35,000 ground, reduce prices a bit, better transport links, if they stay in the prem, they should be able to attract 40-50k imo

I'm not for or against either Spurs or West Ham getting it, couldn't give a toss. But keeping the running track is such a shit idea, bet it'll have a shit atmosphere.

I'd rather WHU moved in as Spurs wanted to knock it down and start again. What a fucking waste of a perfectly good stadium. Stupid Jews.

It will flop with the athletics track being retained, atmosphere will be shit, and so will the view from upper tiers imo.

YES
Best news ever! Spurs are the only north London team and that's where they need to stay, They will rebuild WHL now, I think it was all a ploy anyway as when they said about rebuilding the local council opposed it, yet when the bid went in for this they agreed it I think Daniel Levy knows what hes doing! Then coming out and saying about 500m re-development was to get the local people opposing the bid!
Spurs would have filled it easily, such a huge back log of people wanting season ticket!
Athletics and football cannot co-exist in the same stadium! as a supporter i would not want to be 40ft away from the pitch! It will be shocking, if they get relegated how the fuck will they afford the up keep on that stadium

If it stays like that after the game, it will be ridiculous. But I doubt it will, yes they want to keep the running track, but I personally, don't think it'll look exactly like that.
West Ham have proposed a £95m redevelopment of the stadium when/if they win the bid, which I would imagine would alter the internal look of it quite considerably.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/davidbond/westham_olympicstadium_ap.jpg for example, which somehow depicts west hams bid but shows no obvious signs of a running track.
I would imagine that the WHU has some answers regarding the running track issue, and I can't see there being a visible running track all year round, temp seating will be on it for 9 months of the year, imo...
