Bit random, but I'm looking for some advice.

I have a porch which is not plastered. It's single course bricks and I was planning on stiking plaster board to the bricks on the inside and then getting a plasterer to come in and skim over the top.

Will this work or would it need plastering directly onto the brick?

Also, does it matter that it's just single course?

Thanks

modern plasterboard with tapered edge does not need skimming, simply apply it to the brickwork , then use a tape on the joint and build compound up on this, then allow to dry and simply paint over!

If you go for square edged boards you will need to skim over the top.

Im a plasterer just dot and dab boards to th brickwork and get it skimmed or as said above use tapered boards and tape and joint the boards and paint. Then you can just bond the skirting boards on

Or wen you dot and dab the boards on do solid dabs at the bottom so you have something to fix to for the skirting .

Personally I'd cover the Walls in some sort of tarp etc then batten it off with 1x1'' then board to that.
