I had two tattoos previously, no problems at all, got a bigger one done a week ago, went absolutly fine and looked after as the guy said, it's healing really well, just about done, but it's itching like mad! Is this usual? I know wounds tend to itch when healing but this is just annoying. Is there anything you can put on to stop it? Or is it best just leaving it to the air and trying to ignore it?

Put bepanthan (sp?) on it
Seemed to stop the itching quite well on my chest piece and definitely helps it heal better

I've tried that the last couple of days but it hasn't helped at all with the itching. The guy who did mine advised against using it however, said it is designed to draw infection out, and therefore draws the colour out too.

Cheers Barnshaw, I'll give it ago! It's healed fine, just the damn itching! Want another ASAP but not going until this one is sorted.
Yeah Steve, its neon coloured ink, he also does the invisible stuff that only shows up under UV. I didn't ask for it, I don't go anywhere where there is blacklights, but it's pretty cool!

Bepanthem is the best IMO. after the tattoo, wash it in hot water, then dab dry. Then try not to get it wet for at least 2 days. Then you can start putting cream on it after this 2 days. It heals better, quicker and brighter

My stomach was horrendously itchy, luckily had a week of work booked so stayed pretty much naked so nothing touched it

The only part of having a tattoo done that hurts is the healing. All the other part is a doodle
