Afternoon All,
My dads looking at topping up his collection of bits and pieces and is after a few bits, a drrying towel, engine cleaner and a clay kit?
What he is looking at as follows:
http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/autoglym-engine-and-machine-cleaner.php
http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/dodo-juice-soft-touch-premium-drying-towel.php
http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/elite-spray-and-clay-kit-fine-grade.php
Any info/advice would be great

i've used autoglym engine cleaner before and it leaves a lot of streaky marks on plastics if you don't buff it off properly.
303 aerospace protectant seems to be very good as a lot of detailers use it.

Is that a cleaner/de-greaser as well or just a dressing?

I use these drying towels
http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washing-and-drying/miracle-dryer-ultra-plush-25-x-36-/prod_362.html
This clay
http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/detailing-clay/meguiars-detailing-clay-mild/prod_278.html
with this lube
http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/detailing-sprays/meguiars-last-touch/prod_225.html
For engine bay cleaning I would use some of this
http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=321
And then finish it with this

Its used on the plastics and vinyls and rubber to make them look brand new, and it does make them look brand new.
For a cleaner just use an all purpose cleaner, I use tescos citrus APC diluted 1:4.
For harder grime I use Gunk brush on in a spray bottle and that shifts grime no problem.

Triplewax shampoo
Turtlwax noodle microfibre wash mitt
Autoglym super resin polish
Turtlewax wax (green tub with the spongy applicator on top of it)
Wonderwheels for the alloys and engine bay
Some turtlewax alloy wheel sealant that's about 10 yrs old that I got given
And 1 bucket, some hot water and a garden hose
edit, I thought this was asking what shit you use, my bad. I've never used clay but I had a Meguiars Water Magnet drying towel that was superb.

If you think the Megs Water Magnet is good then I suggest you try the one I posted because I think the Megs towel is shite.

I could dry a car and a half with the Megs one without wringing it, got pinched off me by a mate though. That chemical guys one does look quite good though, definetely bigger than the megs one

Any advice on drying towels? Elite car care are only based down the road from me, was planning on popping down to them at the weekend.

Yup I concur with Ollie.
Water magnets are wank. They become mega scratchy after a few uses too.

I use this one usually to get the worst of the water off as it's quite absorbant but it's a bit too big for doing the nooks and crannys

Follow up with the yellow one.

Just get a plush towel. Dont wipe but Dab the wetness. Also its a good idea to use the open end hose to sheet the water off 1st so its easier to dry/quicker/less water on car.

Get two to start with as well, because one isn't usually enough to get a good finish IMO.
If there is anything else I couldn't recommend enough it would be AutoSmart Tardis, perfect for removing tar.
I usually wash the car, then rinse it off then spray Tardis to get rid of the worst tar spots, wash it again then clay.

Iv just got some stuff in, one of them being a PolishedBliss own brand luxury drying towel so will see later how it goes Cost me £9 its safe to use for wiping rather than dabbing.
I use the megs quick clay kit, with their quick detailer as lubricant that came in the kit

Iv just did my car once with it, I think detailers say to only use clay once? wasnt that dirty though and you can turn to a clean section. Only need to clay your car maybe 2 or 3 times a year
