Ive got a corsa b 1.2 8v SPi

When i take the key out/turn of car.... the battery light stays on.... and will drain the battery...

Ill jump start it... it will run for about 5 mins... then die again...

Ive tryed a jump lead from battery to the chassis/gearbox and its still on....

Any ideas what it could be.. im thinking Alternator??

ign switch is shot.
if the light is on when its running. then its the alt

whats one of them mate??? and any idea why it would be cutting out??

And will it flaten the battery?

No when ignition is nothing is on....

Goes of when it runs, but the car just cuts out after bout 2/3 mins when running, was fine earlier... it was running ok.

if light goes off when its running

and the batt light is on when the key is out
i reckon the ignition switch is buggerd

Ok... any idea why it would turn its self of... and just leave the dash lights on though?? Possibilty its not charging? Ill get tester on it tomoz!

Isit a easy fix???

My sisters tigra used to cut out when driving. after changing the camshaft sensor and it still not fixing it we found it to be the battery.

If the battery light stays on while the car is running its definately your alternator

if it stays on when the car is off its the ignition switch. easy enough fix though mate.

it may be the switch isnt clicking all the way back, so its still a bit on.

also possible the batery is toast aswell now

Do i need to get a hole new key and lock barrel thingy?
So changing the switch would stop it switching of then??

Battery isnt that old to be honest, although its been sat around up the yard for a while in the office...

Will lube it up 2morow see whats what
