Hey,

Thinking of trading my Ibiza FR in for one of these. What realistic mpg do these do? Can't be as bad an Astra VXR with it being a smaller engine. At the moment my Ibiza average around 40mpg overall per tank which lasts between 400/450miles.

Thanks

alot better than hight 20's driving tidy.

Should see around 34-36mpg driving tidy.
And goes down to around 7mpg with your foot too the board.

Is it a quicker car your needing? Or handling or just a new car? I dont think there would be much between a corsa vxr and a remapped ibiza tdi. I thought about it myself then decided against it. Not fancy going that bit more and getting an astra vxr?

but then you can remap the corsa and take the pre cat off and it would come alive. They feel restricted/ holding back standard. And taking the precat off makes it sound lovley too

Let me know how it is Pete. I don't really care if it's quicker or not I just like how they look and miss driving a petrol tbh. Seen you can get a half decent one for around £8000 so if I put mine to standard I wouldn't have much to fork out on top.

Also if the pre-cat was removed would there be any emission problems for MOT?

nope, none at all with the precat taken off. Its was only for the euro emissions. Dont need it in this country. The car still has another cat under the car.
Just the precat one is on the down pipe.

yeah its fine. The racing and artic editions already have them removed using remus precats. Cheap enough buy, under £100

i agree with you there, if your not looking to play with anything on the car, they do feel held back and restricted. But apart from that, theyre awsome! I try and drive my brothers thorney stage2 corsa every chance i have.

I test drove a corsa vxr and the mini cooper s. I'm not trying to put you off in anyway but i found the mini to be much better value for money. I love the corsa though but could not warrant spending the money on it.

well drove it this morning, it was a 60 plate so had a new ''shift up'' thing on the dials but all models before 59 dont get that. It had 18's and i think it made the ride a bit more jiggly than normal but other than that i thought it was a nice car to be in. Interiors very nice. Only booted it once, 2nd into 3rd. Performed well, what you would expect for a 190bhp car. I would happily own one i think, don't know if im going to though but thats due to personal reasons, not the car.

mid 30's i always see, can touch 40mpg under 65mph. Only goes down to the 20's if driving it with a bit of aggression here and there. And goes down to 7mpg with my foot welded to the floor. Which i usually get a slap off my brother at that point.

Sounds like you are relying on what the computer is telling you. Dont trust the trip computer in any car.
