I'm looking to insure the XE today, I'm 21 and I've got 2 years NCB. What are the main companies I should be looking at to get quotes from? Ones I can think of in particular are HIC, Brentacre and Flux, any more that I've forgotten?

Nice one Danny I'll add them to the list. Are they the type of company that's ok with engine conversions?

I had no problem with HIC.

Also if you spend £12.50 and become a premium member you'll get 15% discount

Who were you with before??

I found Flux to be the cheapest for me and never had any problems with them.

Admiral seem to be putting out the cheapest quotes at the moment.Do they do converted cars though??

I went with Flux but hated their service CS21, it's put me right off them. I'll probably get a quote off them but only if I'm not getting anything else elsewhere.

Good point with the HIC thing Archie, definetely going to give them a ring anyway.

Found a landline number for HIC via saynoto0870.com for anyone that's interested: 01279 506090, just means that if you get free landline calls you don't need to pay to call the bastards

All going down as a 2 litre for all the CSDVLA members

I've ended up being busy since last posting needing to go out and I'm finding that all the bloody places are shut and won't be open will Monday - question now is what companies are open on a Sunday?

Nice one mate I'll give them a ring the now.

connolly, I've heard that they take the piss when coming to claim as well. That plus the fact that the service I did get was a bit shite has kind of put me off them.

Recent changes announced at NIG

In August 2010 NIG announced its move to focus solely on its commercial lines of business to continue to build and grow its capability for what its best known for.

This means NIG no longer transact in personal lines - this includes private car, motorcycle, home, pet and travel businesses. The business is working with our broker partners to ensure new business and renewals are managed as per agreed individual contractual terms. Brokers with questions should contact their personal lines relationship manager.

Commercial vehicle insurance continues to be traded under business insurance.

Didn't wanna have to try an get a policy sorted whilst being in Scotland on a Saturday lol. I shall be getting quotes on her tomorrow!
