we've seen a 3 bed town house for sale and we love it, but what are the good/bad about living in town houses?
obviously the 2 sets of stairs are a negative but i'm young so it doesn't bother me.

Having more stairs shouldn't be a worry, I've got 4 sets before I even get to my front door

4 my mum and dad have 2 sets (loft conversion and it seemed fine.
just not sure on how they look from the outside but the space inside is much better than the traditional houses that we've looked at.

My cousin used to live in a town house with 3 floors. Great idea personally. Means you can get even further away from the Mrs when shes being a cunt.

that is one of the reasons why i like town houses
i do shift work and get in at 11pm after late shift. she works full time so needs to go to bed then, but i want to stay up and watch tv.
i can watch it on the ground floor and can actually hear it without disturbing her this way.

Only minor issue with kids is that you are sleeping on a different floor to them which can be a pain in the ass if they need attention.

Make them sleep in the shed in the garden. You won't even be able to hear if they need attention.

I have 3 storeys, soon get used to it, rooms 3 bed cramped into new build space normally means tiny shit rooms but because of 3 stores I have 3 excellent size double rooms

same as this, we've got a 2.5 storey, got tons of space because of it, it's a pain to hoover it all, that's the only con i can think of really. But the rooms are all a very good size and we got a nice sized garden too

We had a Dyson that weighed a ton which meant we couldnt be arsed, bought a new one which is much lighter and its no longer so much a pain, just gotta be careful not to twat the walls and gouge holes in them, 2 sets of stairs = twice as likely

I've lived in 2 and it depends on the layout of the house IMO
One was alright and stayed there a few years, the other was shit and stayed less than 6 months

Arent they mostly terraced? Therefore neighbors on both sides could be a con..
I know we wouldnt buy another semi/terraced again now after being detached!

Yea the terraced thing is always a con, but at our age its very difficult to get a detached house, judging by price and just needs, not many small detached places.
Be careful with some 3 storey townhouses as well, a friend at work as a proper weird one
Ground floor - Garage, kitchen, utility, bog, 1 bedroom
First - Lounge and access to garden
Second - 2 bedrooms 1 ensuite
Wouldnt like that at all, garage is integrated btw so takes up most the ground floor floorplan

this is an end of terrace.
there are 2 rows of 4.
ground floor has a shower room, garage (used as a bedroom at the moment) and a reception room which is also a bedroom.
middle floor has living room and kitchen.
top floor has 2 big bedrooms and bathroom.
pretty good layout really.
we are semi detached at the moment and always have been in all my houses (3) so i'm used to it.
