Any good?

Some are bloody cheap now online...!! I've always thought they're a decent car, look good, perfomance on paper looks great and are reliable.

Anybody got one or had experiences with them?

Got no experience of one (only sat in one), but they are quiet small inside, and terrible on fuel and drink oil (internetz hype)

Aye, I couldn't get over how cheap they are. They're a lovely looking car, and have loads of extras on them as standard.

Joking aside, so long as you're on top of the servicing and maintenance, you'll be fine. Quite a few RX7 owners have RX8s as dailies.

Beware the tax on them though, could be why so many are going cheap.

The maw had one, they take about a litre of oil a month. As said, if you look after them they're generally ok but my mum's had something wrong with it in the way that it was killing coils for some reason. You can't start them, turn the engine off then restart the engine straight away or it'll flood it.

I had a shot of my mum's up the dual carraigeway one day. Hers was only a 192 but it seemed to have enough gunt to get it around, was planted to the road as well. The interior is a lovely place to be as well:

Good cars but not without their problems.

Bad for CAT's and starters. Alsoengines are prone to shitting themself if not looked after. Also they hate winter/ice as they just will not start. Oh and they use so much oil and fuel you will get sick of it. Tax is also £235 for 6 months.

Bad points aside, they are a very well built, good looking and great driving car.

Get one, but be prepared to spend alot running it.

Whittie

I've had my rx8 since november now 2004 230 version...and i've had not had any problems with mine, the fuel is shit i will admit that mines currently doing 13mpg at the moment but should go up when a little warmer..

there like any other car, service them as you should and you won't have any problems, they do use oil but thats the design of the engine to use oil, i top mine up once a month maybe? Thats with abit of a heavy foot.

Parts are expensive though.. join up to rx8ownersclub and they have a big thread what to look out for..
