After having our baby i need to get rid of my audi for a diesel due to the mileage i'm doing nowadays..

Thought we'd have more to spend but want to keep a few K in savings so will only have circa 5K 5.5K plus mine so maybe 6K max.

Ideally i'd like a german motor again but i need it to be as nice/new as possible so anything goes really..maybe an auto too? Can only think of the likes of a 5 series or A4....is there anything special i'm missing?

Mondeo ST TDCi - won't be as refined as a 6 pot diesel german beast though.

Mondeo ST Touring.

Judging by what has been bought on here in the past they're a right steal.

I'd personally go for the mondeo over a BMW, you should try save a few ££ now you've got a kid, parts for a BMW are a fair bit dearer for a start. YOu could get the same year Mondeo for 3k cheaper.

Avoid the spackamatic Audi unless you want to replace the gearbox. TERRIBLE terrible gearbox which is so prone to breaking it's untrue.

530d is good though, injectors can fail though.

Friend went from a Mk1 RS to a mondeo diesel (the one that looks like the st220) He loves it and hasn't had a bad word to say about it.

Zetec S is the one that looks like the ST.

I went for one because it looks similar and is a lot cheaper than the ST (£2k or so less). You don't get leather unless you drop on one thats had it as an extra from new, but you can always retro fit

I love mine, great car and can't really see a replacement for it any time soon!

That looks smart Phil Nice plate too.

Pretty sure if i got one it would have to be in the blue with the heated leather If i can save a few K by getting one that's not though i'd be just as happy!

I've just put heated leather in mine. Dead easy.

Fit seats, plug in (normal plug under seat), plug switch in dash (loom already there), fit relay in fuse box... done!

Best/easiest mod i've ever done.
