Most garages won't use your parts for guarantee purposes, well that's how it is round here

can take well more than an hour, if its seized or ball joints spin etc, took me nearly 3 hours to do one side on a golf last week . Its not an easy job. I charged him £90 labour and £20 for the bearing .

If you can get the hubs off and take them to the mech yourself that will be the cheapest way.

Yeah, although the calipers were still attached to the hubs which probably didn't help, and the guy said he had to grind something (which I forget) off, no idea why tbh I think he was just making more work so he could charge £10 per side, I know the calipers were easy to take off as I sold them to a mate and he fitted them to his corsa, turned out they were the wrong ones so he put them back on the hubs.

£10 a side is dirt cheap, 2 hours labour at our place is £80 alone, that's without parts.

Still, the guy made a mountain out of a mole hill about doing it.
Got it done that cheap as I know the guy.

I wouldn't even change brake pads for a tenner. Steve it doesn't matter what you do it's time it takes getting them off without fucking them up , once there off usually go back on ok with new nut but still no one in their right mind would do that for £10
