Fucking bastards! All those protesters were doing was walking down the road FFS and they get shot at!

Exactly the same thing has happened in Egypt and is now also happening in Libya too.

Most (all?) Arab countries have corrupt governments that have draconian laws in place - you want democracy, you have to die for it, it seems.

All they're doing is lighting a fire they won't able to put out with stupidity like that.

They don't give a fuck over there, they'll die until the government is overthrown.

Quoted from Pistonheads:

BAHRAIN GP CANNED
Civil unrest causes first F1 race of 2011 to be postponed

The Bahrain GP has been called off due to the continued civil unrest in the Gulf state.

Anti-government protests have caused the organisers to postpone what was to be the first race of the 2011 F1 season, originally due to be held on Sunday 13th March.

Bahrain's Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa told Associated Press that the country must "focus on immediate issues of national interest and leave the hosting of Bahrain's Formula One race to a later date."

Most of the protesters in these countries just protest peacefully - it's the corrupt governments that want to silence them as they aren't allowed to speak out against anything - unlike in the UK where everyone is allowed to voice an opinion, over in those countries you get murdered if you speak out.

It's bad that they have to die to get their message across, but hopefully it won't be in vain and people can actually stand up to the corruption and wrongdoings in these countries that Westerners condone in order to get their supply of oil at good prices...

That is mainly down to fuel duty imposed by the UK government TBH.

Edit: 59p of every litre of petrol or diesel is "hydrocarbon oil duty" - so if you pay 129.9p/litre the cost without the duty is really only 70.9p/litre (inc. 20% VAT).
