It's usually the one with the metal bit surrounding the plug, late setup are all plastic

Yeah, irc early one is the flap type and late one is hot wire type.

Yeah that's what my original one looked like , I've borrowed a mates off a 1991 engine mines a 1990 and it's brought my elm light on :/

Are the let ones diffrent to these? There the dizzy type ones too but dont remember seein that slotted screwdrive bit

usually has a cap over it so you cant usually see the screw.

Yeah they usually have a cap over , these two afm look the same really just can't understand why the one on the car brings the eml on and the one in my hand doesn't :/
