Do you think they will, some of them looked pretty good to be honest.

I think the whole modifying scene will die out tbh

Youngsters want new cars nowadays, not to waste money modifying older cars. I think fun/track cars will be the new outlet for modifying

I think everyone would rather have a new car if they could afford it, but getting an older car and making it yours is the next best thing

Yes, I think they will. I've seen a few cars (in pictures mainly) with body kits AND big engines in them.

For example, I saw a pic of a Corsa B with a decent spec LET in a while ago (I think it was a Corsa B but it was definitely a LET)

I think they will come back but coupled with decent engines (I hope) as some sort of horrible scene look but with the performance to justify it. Although I don't like body kits on Vauxhall's I do however like some body kits on jap cars as some of them do look quite good.

problem is, and a lot of youngsters realise this now; its actually cheaper to buy a new car - I wasted probably £10k total on my corsa - Don't get me wrong, I loved that car for what it was but at the same time, I could have had something newer, faster, and less hassle for less money

I think there will always be young people spending a disproportionate amount of money on cheap cars.

I would imagine they'll come back around, trends change, always have done, always will.

And the comments about young people going for new cars, back when I was in school and bodykits were big business, people were going out buying brand new Saxos and still then pumping 10s of thousands into modifying them so buying new isn't really a new thing to come about

Not a chance in hell, that scene is dead. We are about 5 years behind mainland Europe in that respect, it's all about OE look and improving upon that.

I think with the death of the magazines, its a sign that the scene will die out.

You'll get the hardcore elite, the Fast Ford, Total Vauxhall, specific marque magazines and their followers but there'll never be a big cruise scene again, too much of a crackdown on it. Combine that with a reduction in the number of shows and there's no outlet for highly modified cars.

Highly tuned cars or cars modified for trackdays/race series will be where it at. That and maybe the elite modifiers

Back when modifying was big anyone could roll into Vauxhall/Citroen/Peugeot and buy the newest Corsa/Saxo/106 on finance and then get a 10k loan to modify it beyond recognition.

Not anymore blads

fibreglass kits, 40mm drops and 17s are dead.

custom bodywork will come back into fashion but i can see it being smooth wide arches and bumpers based on oem items, lairy leather interiors, roll cages etc

the trend of 'lowered on nice wheels' will continue what with the price of air ride coming down and new wheels being brought out to cater for that market

I think the look of new OE cars has stopped the need for big body kits, when you look at OE Poverty Spec Mk1/2/3 Fiesta's, Nova's, 205's etc they just didnt look nice, (the XR/GTE/GTi's being an exception of course) the bumpers on them were just that 'bumpers' when you look a newer Poverty Spec cars they already have nice looking valences which are mostly colour coded and in general look nice to begin with

RKS speaks the truth.

You only have to look at how easy it is to make a Corsa D look nice with the styling kit and the optional extra 17's much of which dealers spec from the factory, you only need a set of Eibach springs and you have an awesome looking car.

The Corsa B on the other hand even the top spec Sport looks the same as a 1.0 Envoy.

After coming from a VW past to a Vauxhall circles ive noticed the Vaux circles seem abit behind the VW circles (as you said the general EU scene) weither the vaux lot like it or not.

Low as hell on a decent set of low offset dishy wheels is here and there in vaux circles yet 90% of VW circles have that already.
Seeing alot of ''quite'' low cars on here theres always someone complaining its not going to handle e.t.c yet if your 40/60mm down in VW circles you get people complaining your too high

Horses for courses i would say, your car do as you wish with it

My 5 cents
