Hello, I decided I'd start a project thread of my 1 litre corsa. I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Here's the original advertising pictures of the car when I bought it:

After a good wash and polish:

Before the bodyshop:

Pictures of the car after some minor mods and painted steelies, also tidied the interior up:

Colour coded roof rails and spoiler fitted:

Started work on the de-locked handles:

Vectra light and 3rd brake light wired in:
Here it is working, using a normal LED festoon and 2x SMD 5 LED sidelight bulbs

Gave the engine bay a good clean:

Recent pictures after a good wash & polish:

And last but not least, dash mat fitted:

Comments welcome

Thanks, yeh, the weather isn't ideal for spraying at the minute. Getting something sorted out soon though.

Just an update on plans and some of the progress I've made. 27/03

- Delocked handles and boot lock primered and awaiting paint for respray in satin black.

- Side skirts half way through the rubbing down stage, need to be primered and sprayed satin black.

- Mirrors nearlly finished being prepped ready for bodyshop.

- Irmscher splitter arrived, needs to be prepped ready for the bodyshop

- Bought a set of post 97 bumpers in a fair condition for £30. Bargain, especially since they were arden blue.

Once they arrived all seemed ok, on closer inspection the rear one has a slight crease in and the front one looks to be an aftermarket ebay style bumper. Resprayed poorly with paint peeling, also the splitter is hard plastic and built into the actual bumper itself...?

Plan of action is to get these on the car asap as a tempory thing. Get mine off, smoothed, primered and into the bodyshop to be colour coded. While I'm taking them off, I can get my arches smoothed and sprayed satin black.

Lots going on. I'm also on the look out for some bump strips, I think these will look alot better considering i'm going for the black/blue theme.

I need thoughts on the grill, I don't like the debadged grill, so I'm thinking either doing the 'V' bit satin black or get it colour coded. Comments welcome.

Also 28/03

Well after a few problems getting the rear bumper off, I've finally got them swapped over and the tempory one put on. It gives me a good idea of what it will look like once i've got the others resprayed and i'm liking it! Notice the crappy boot lock surround that i've got on, no matter how much I back to black it, it still looks grey. Should have the original resprayed and put back on soon though.

This is how i'll be driving around for a few months untill I've got the black ones prepped and resprayed, no arches for the win.

Got the temporary front bumper on today. I knew it was gonna be a pain to switch over but taking the weather guard off from around the front arches was a joke. All that just to get at the bolts behind the arches, which I eventually pulled off because all the bolts had rusted and snapped. Once the arches were off the bumper came off pretty easily.

Its pretty clean underneath too tbh, no rust that I can see.

Had to stick the number plate on with double sided pads for the time being, I knew it wasn't going to be a great fit because its a rep, but the fit is shocking to be honest, glad it won't be staying on for that long.

Been quoted £260 to get my bumpers, splitter and mirrors rubbed down/sprayed at the body shop, so once I've got the money I'll get the black ones sprayed and put back on.

Still need some ideas on the grill, not sure whether to satin black the 'V' bit or colour code it.

Comments welcome.

You don't have to take the arch liner off to remove/fit the bumper. Theres a little plastic flap that you pull back to get access to the bolt

Done quite a bit without updates.

These are waiting for the bodyshop

I have the arches fully smoothed and in primer waiting to go satin black.

Bump strips are waiting their final coat of satin

Rear bumper smoothed fully and in primer

Started rubbing down the irmscher splitter.

Just need to crack on with the front bumper and get it all in the bodyshop.

ALSO

SMD heater bulbs fitted, much brighter which is good.

Red LEDs replaced in MFD since the white ones blew after about 4 months. Lets face it, they are rubbish, good thing I have 10 SMDs coming soon.

Clipped my front fog switch in lol. Hopefully It'll have more use than an ornament soon.

Got my bumps strips sprayed and lacquer, will probably redo them without lacquer as they are a bit too shiney for my liking.

Also rubbed down the rust bubbles and undersealed the arches

Pretty pointless updates, but important ones I think. Hopefully more cosmetic updates will follow soon.

Gave the car a wash, polish and t-cut yesterday and finished it off today. All the marks on the doors are now out. I also popped most of the dent out of the rear quarter. The paintwork has kept well over the winter. Its once again spotless. Just need to get the stuff into the bodyshop and get it finished now.
