Are you out of contract?
In other words, your contract lasts for 12 months. So have you been paying for more than 12 months
We were out of contract and I called and asked for a repair, they said it would cost a bomb
So I said that I wanted to leave as this was disgraceful from a multi million pound company.
I was sent through to "the leaving people" (technical terms lol) and she offered me a new contract for an HD box and she said that once we get an HD TV then we can upgrade...
I got HD box, fitting, and new dish for free and I saved a pound or so on my monthly contract!!
I say, DO IT THAT WAY!!!

I've got 2 different ones like this (notice the lack of interactive card on the smaller one);
The smaller one is newer and is a lot quicker through the menus etc...
I've not used the official 1tb box yet, but my mate's a Sky fitter and he reccons they're pretty slick

We've got both as well, the larger one is gathering dust in the garage.
Was the first smaller box the guy who installed ours had done, he was really confused about it, obviously no-one had told him they were upgrading the boxes

I've got the newer slimmer one, think it's an amstrad, had the older bulkier one at my mums, the newer one is much better.

Got mine in October and its huge compared to my mates who got his last month, his hasn't crashed yet either or failed to record series linked programmes, which mine does frequently.
