I'm just finding out about the amount I'm entilted to, it's something like 3 and half weeks pay for each year you been there.

£20k there or there abouts. I've got to consult them about the fact that I started there when I was 16 so I might not be entilted to the first two years I worked there so might be a bit less.

Where are you getting that from Steve?
Public sector redundancy is rediculous. A month per year is pretty standard and then it gets a stupid percentage added on top if you're over 40
Most people in the place we supply were walking away with well over £100k last year when the redundancies started

Do you not feel a bit bad that all you managed to achieve in 12 years within one company was redundancy?

Is £20k pre-tax? Assuming 40% tax, that leaves you with £12k. Hardly seems waiting 12 years for?

Check your contract before you get too excited.

Thats what happens to most people, companies evolve and there isnt space for everyone.. I've worked where I am for 10 years and I have no doubt that it will end in redundancy.
