Right, May is gonna be all about scenery and boss roads, not forgetting food We're off to Cumbria
Due to the first Sunday falling on the Bank Holiday weekend I've also opted for the second Sunday, to avoid all the bank holiday traffic which would turn this from an epic drive into an annoying and boring drive.
The plan
An earlier meet up than usual, followed by a drive, probably a couple of stops for photo opportunities if people want too, then aim for the pub for the usual time.
The meeting point
Little Chef - Penrith
A66, Redhills,
Penrith,
Cumbria,
CA11 0DT
The route
Starting from Little Chef we're heading for the Whinlatter Pass then onto the Honister Pass and then heading down to the pub in Kendal via Ambleside and Windermere.
I've never organised a proper 'drive' meet before and I know I love driving a lot more than some (I'd quite happily do the full route that Adam posted in the other thread ) so I've tried to keep myself reigned in and not go too mad with it so I hope it suits people
Route Map
The Pub
The Punch Bowl
Barrows Green
Stainton (A65)
Kendal
Cumbria
LA8 0AA
http://www.pub-explorer.com/cumbria/pub/punchbowlkendal.htm
Date and Times
The meet will be on 8th May. We will be meeting at the Little Chef at 1.00pm to leave at 1.15pm which should give plenty of time for the drive and photo stops before getting to the pub at 4pm so if anyone can't make the drive you could still meet us at the pub and hear about what you missed
I look forward to seeing you all there, my legs are already jigging with excitement

It's a bit far for me, i'll have to give it a miss. After 500 - 600 miles a week for work, driving kind of bores me.
Be much more fun when i get Corsa up to scratch!
Will be coming PVS, worth the drive for the weekend

He can't make it unfortunately, he's at a drag day, he claims it's something to do with cars but I'm not 100% I believe him

Yeah, it's about 14 miles from j43 iirc. I'd already had a chat with him about me potentially going up for the Sunday morning before the meet but I'd probably be looking at an early start from mine to get up there for 9-10 o'clock because I'd have to leave just after 12 to get back to the Little Chef for 1 so we wouldn't get a massive amount of time up there but I'm still considering it myself so if anyone else was up for it then I'd definitely pop up.
When I say an early start though I mean I'd have to be leaving my house at about 6.30 to get up there for 9, bearing in mind it's a Sunday morning too but if anyone's up for it then let us know in here and I'll be a definite there

Looking like I may well have a Combo in time for this now. It's a bit closer to fighting the Corsa corner than turning up in a Primera

Not 100% on numbers but it should be decent judging by some of the people I've spoke to about it.

Ah right, I was just planning on heading straight up the 6 to J40 but I could probably meet you there first if you want. Need to speak to Ian and see what's happening, I've not got my Combo as expected so I don't know what we'll be heading up in yet, or who's driving.
