Mrs wants to fuck her N8 off and as its under contract she will have to buy a new phone, phone recycle websites will give her around £160 for it so shes looking for a new phone for around that amount.
Any recommendations?

Mine is OK. You might have had trouble with it or whatever but that doesn't mean everyone else has?

My desire was £180 off eBay brand new 6 months ago. Must be well cheaper than that off there now.

its the quality of the screen / icons / camera etc. the apps are also a load of bollocks.

£180 is really, really cheap for a Desire, I got a good deal getting a brand new one for £270 about 6 months ago.
Screen on the Wildfire is crap, I got shot down the last time I pointed that out.

Wtf is everyone saying the wildfire is crap?
He said his budget was £200 for £200 sim free that's about the best phone readily available. Also apps are crap?! It's an android phone?!
If you could find a Desire then great obv get that, but i would prefer to buy one with a receipt and warranty from a reputable retailer etc.

Wildfire isn't crap in general, the screen on it is though.

The camera is also shit for a modern day phone.
Infact i can draw clearer pictures using crayons than what the wildfire can display.
Its maybe an android but not all apps work on this as apposed to the desire therefore making them limited.
Personally i wouldnt waste my money.

Blackberry or ZTE Blade/Wildfire. I'd have a look at sticking it on eBay, they easily go for £200+

Compared to rival phones at similar prices though?! I think Scott you are missing the point.

I do, they are all similar. £200 would get you a curve 3G. If you can stretch to £290 a bold 9780 from amazon

The new Curve 9100 (9105 has a T9 keyboard), around £210-250, is pretty decent if she's after something a bit smallish or you can pick up a Curve 9300 for around £200-220. Otherwise you have the Bold, but on PAYG they're around £300+.
Just remember she's going to need a tarrif with BIS, which is usually a few quid bolt-on.

No, you need a BlackBerry BIS bolt-on on your tarrif otherwise push/BBM won't work (you can bodge the browser if you don't have a BIS bolt-on).
