a full system with the cat removed or a sports cat will generally be noticably louder than just changing the rear box.

my old corsa b with a janspeed cat back stainless system with no centre box was brill, nice growl when you booted it but just purred along if driven normal, perfect in my eyes, hate cars with hugely loud exhausts when cruising at 2000rpm

I would argue that 'some' backboxes can make your car sound very very loud. A cat back system can be loud if you want it too by removing all silencers. I had a turbo back Miltek on my gsi with precat decat and a resonated centre and it was no where near as loud as my mates on rage backbox on his 1.4 astra lol

Turbo engines are quieter as the turbo acts as a silencer. And rage back boxes are just stupid

ive got a backbox on now but it isnt very loud, so im looking at a full exhaust system but just wondering if its gonna be any louder than the backbox on its own. :]

and if i got a system with no silencer wouldnt that make it not road legal? i want a system that is louder than just a backbox and will pass an MOT and isnt considered not road legal
