Sanded it down to bare metal and sprayed some primer stuff on it.

Anyone got any tips on painting it, do i have to sand down paint b4 applying laquer????

Not too bothered about it looking spot on, just wanna stop rust, while i wait for respray.....

i got some near wiper too, had a real bad lump just to top of number plate, (above K & W)
just thought feck it, and got the sandpaper out.....

so what sort of sand paper do i want for smoothing, used something like 100 grit to get down to metal....

you need to spray it with anti-rust compounds and anti-rust primer should be able to get these from halfrauds

i used some anti rust stuff that doubled as a primer then painted over that.

i just sprayed some "grey primer" onto it

you can buy primer which has a rust protector of some description in it, my mate got a load from halford when doin his old metro gti thingy and it worked a treat rust never came back,

sand that back down and use the other stuff if you can get some and it should be fine, depends on how deep the rust was really aswell

rust weren't too bad, but that why i've done it now, didn't want it getting nasty, i will sand it back again then, only slapped primer on cos it started getting dark and was fed up...
