I am looking for a daily driver which will be 80% urban driving.

Max budget is £3k and I want it to ideally manage 40mpg on urban cycle if possible.

As new and low mileage as possible within the budget.

Had a Lupo Sport before as a daily which I liked, dont want a Fiesta, Corsa or Punto so been looking at C2`s.

Open to other suggestions though. The Scooby I bought is to be a weekend/fair weather car only.

Opinions from anyone thats owned one? things to look out for?

Cheers.

Yes paddle shift, so im thinking very handy just for nipping into the city/work/gym etc.

Scoob is going to stay garaged during the Week, I want to try and keep its relative show/shine condition although that will probably go to shit when it sees track action

No offence Mike but the Lupo is far better screwed together than the C2

Not worried about build quality for a daily hack tbh. Surprised how frigging expensive the Lupo's still are, especially the GTI's

They hold their value for a reason. I just find the C2 too wishy washy.

Avoid the 1.1, they are DOG slow. The 1.4 manual would be the best bet for you I should think

The auto box thingy is shite. Drive one, and you will know why.

Shamless plug, but my mates got his C2 vts for sale.

Like a little go cart and really good/easy for knocking about town. Nothing has ever gone wrong with it (was owned by another friend previously and he put all the 'mods' on it). No to my tatse but there you go.

Shit on the motorway though, Never been in anything so revvy

Petrol or diesel? Remember neo recommends the 1.6vts d. Been in a friends 1.4 semi auto job a few times, you can tell they were built for young lads but seem quite good fun to drive. The paddles are quite slow I think...

If you liked the Lupos but they are holding value too well, thought about the Polo GTis?

They have dropped in value a lot -

Are these the 1s with the paddle shift gearbox that you need to think 5 seconds ahead as to when you want it to change gear??

So all VTS are manual?

Re the GT, seems a shame to have a limited run car as a daily hack that will get bumped up kerbs and left in tescos car park.
