I need to edit a couple videos so they play at 1.5 or 2x speed. Anyone got any tips? I have Windows 7 or Ubuntu on hand. I need to edit the files themselves as they are going to be embedded in a presentation so I cannot just open VLC and set it to play at 2x speed.

no doubt you can do this in move maker, these days its called live movie maker
