Attended an awards ceremony at the Monastry in Manchester yesterday and came away with the individual award for our area and individual winner for the whole company.

Was a long process, 12,000 people, 600 nominations, down to 150 finalists, down to 14 on the day, down to 1.

Won £200 in love2shop vouchers for the area award and a red letter day experience worth up to £1500 for the overall. As well as the opportunity to choose where I want to be in the business and attend meetings with the Chief Exc.

Well done mate! I'm pretty sure a £1500 Red Letter Day gets you a drive in an F1 car!

F1 Experience - £1499

Start with five demo laps in a Mini Cooper S followed by a safety briefing. Then drive yourself for six miles the Porsche 911 Turbo and six miles the Ferrari 360. Go solo with ten laps in a single seater Formula Ford. Drive another seven un-paced laps in the single seater, then upgrade to a stunning Formula 3 single seater for ten laps. Next up is the main event with ten laps in either the 1996 Italian Forti-Corse FG03, as driven by Luca Badoer, or the 1994 Arrows FA14, as driven by Aguri Suzuki. These 600bhp machines will redefine your notion of speed and road handling and give you a huge adrenaline rush! Lunch, memorabilia and F1 certificate are included, plus dinner, overnight accommodation and breakfast for you and a guest at a local hotel.

Plenty of driving anyway!

Haha, cheers guys, I work for Co-operative Financial Services inc Britannia.

Was an amazing day, photos and maybe vids to come.

I secured a new job in Change with a nice pay rise just before this event, i'm due to start in May so just going to carry on down that path and see where it takes me.

Supercar for the weekend sounds amazing...dont think the Mrs would forgive me for not doing one of the weekends away though.

I was also considering on of the gifts they do like the Tag watch for £1000, selling it and going away for a week all inclusive...

This. Im a strong believer that everything happens for a reason and I was never meant to get that job.

I applied for a job in Financial Crime here about 8 months ago and didnt even get an interview. I later found out from a friend that they already knew who they wanted for the job before they advertised it and made sure they got it. Having won this award, its kicking off and someones in troubles as its been highlighted through me not even getting an interview that the proper recruitment process was not followed

It would be at a comparable level to what i'm on now I would imagine, maybe a slightly higher level if I was cheeky. Given the choice I would have asked to go to Change, but i'm going there anyway so makes no odds to me.
