£200k? its ridiculous. compensation should be proportional to the inconvenience its caused. in no way would that guy be £200k better off if he hadnt slipped on a fucking grape

Thing that makes it worse was that it just exagerrated an injury the person already had!

Although someone who slipped on food and fractured a hip only got £20k

£200k is a lot, not to say that slipping on a grape can't be dangerous, but £200k is a ridiculous amount, I broke 1 wrist and badly sprained another, I thought I'd broken broth, I got £4k

the person quit their job iirc. so 200k in the grand scheme of things isn't actually that much.

if they couldn't work again and was 30 years old then if they carried on until they were 50 then thats only 10k a year they're getting.

a 200k lump sump is a lot yes, and when you compare it to soldiers compo it's ridiculous.

If you slip on a grape you should have been more careful where you were walking, not get 200k from it.

'Where there's blame there's a claim'

Should read:

'Where there's a quick buck to be made CLAIM!!'

my manager did when i worked at somerfields.

she went right over and hit her head on a concrete floor.

was quite strange as the first aider told her to stay where she was (on the floor right in the middle of the shop, next to the kiosk where people were queuing).

bet she got loads for that. bitch.

Ben in those situations where someone has hit their head / spine / neck is it not normal for a first aider to keep them still so they dont provoke any other injuries until the proper equipment arrives?

I almost had my hand chopped off at work, but I never claimed.

I've got a massive around my wrist, and it never will be the same again. But shit happens.

My mam slipped on a grape just after i came into the world. She was a nurse at the time and slipped a disk in her back. She hasn't worked since and received no compensation or anything.
